Are You Ready for Prosper?

Seller Essentials / March 12, 2019

Prosper Show is in just a few days and we couldn’t be more excited! Held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort, Prosper is one of the best conferences for Amazon Sellers. With thousands of sellers gathering to learn best practices and network with ex-Amazon leaders, as well as leading Amazon marketplace service providers, this conference is one that shouldn’t be missed!

From March 17-19, Prosper Show has an agenda of workshops aimed to educate Amazon Sellers in many facets of running their business successfully. From brand licensing to Facebook advertising to sales tax, every attendee will no doubt find something new to learn about. Prosper touts 40+ speakers, 6 ex-Amazonians, 25 sessions, and over 100 exhibitors!

So now that you’re surely even More excited for Prosper than before you started reading this post, here are some tips to help you have a great conference!

Tip #1 – Things to put in your backpack for Prosper

  • Laptop and charger
  • Phone charger (or two, just in case!)
  • Plenty of business cards
  • Extra pens
  • Mints/gum
  • Chapstick
  • Hand sanitizer/lotion
  • Snacks (because being hangry is no fun!)
  • Sweater (being cold is the worst!)

Tip #2 – Decide what you want to get out of Prosper

Attending conferences can be fun for sure, but hopefully you’ll learn a lot of great information that will help you run your business. So, before you get to the conference, look over the agenda and decide the main things you want to walk away from Prosper with.

Maybe you need to learn more about advertising on Amazon, so you need to attend as many sessions about that topic as you can. Or maybe you are looking for a particular kind of service provider, so you should find as many exhibitors who offer that service to meet with them one-on-one and compare their offerings and prices. Or you could just be looking to meet as many people as possible and network like crazy, in which case bring LOTS of business cards!

Tip #3 – Use #PROSPER19 when tweeting about Prosper

You will undoubtedly have valuable little nuggets of information that you’ll want to share with the world. Why not post a tweet and use the conference hashtag to let everyone know what you’ve learned? This is especially helpful for people at the conference who weren’t able to attend the session you’re in. They’ll appreciate you sharing the highlights from the session! Plus, you’ll hopefully gain some followers!

Tip #4 – Network like a Pro

Having the opportunity to meet people who are knowledgeable about selling on Amazon is likely one of the reasons you’re attending Prosper. But meeting people and having good conversations can be easier in theory than in practice.

Here are some best practices for networking like a pro:

If someone tries to end a conversation and is walking away, let them go. It’s best not to follow them, especially into the bathroom!

Make sure you are respecting people’s personal space when chatting with them. No one likes having a stranger in their personal bubble.

It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of the conference and have one too many cocktails. Remember, you are here to learn and meet people who can help you. You don’t want to make a bad impression or miss out on learning something important because you’ve had too much to drink.

If you haven’t already gotten your tickets for Prosper, don’t worry! You can still buy your tickets here.

Sellozo will be at Booth #407 with some awesome swag and giveaways you do not want to miss out on! We hope to see you all in Vegas next week!
