Using Sellozo’s Campaign Studio: The Ultimate Guide

Sellozo Campaign Studio

🔍 What is the Sellozo Campaign Studio?

Campaign Studio is Sellozo’s visual tool for effortlessly creating and managing complex Amazon ad campaign structures. It gives you a clear, interactive way to link campaigns and ad groups, making keyword transfer and optimization a breeze.

Here’s how it works:

  • 🔄 Visualize Your Campaign Flow: Campaign Studio lets you map out the flow of keywords from one campaign or ad group to another using simple drag-and-drop arrows. Whether you’re linking an automatic campaign to a manual one or setting up keyword transfers within a manual campaign, you can easily see the structure at a glance.

  • Customize Keyword Transfers: Set rules for how keywords move between ad groups. For example, when a search term converts in an automatic campaign, you can automatically add it as a broad match keyword in a manual campaign — or go straight to exact match.

  • 🔬 Build Complex Strategies with Ease: Need to fine-tune things further? You can create multi-step workflows like having broad match keywords convert into exact match keywords within the same manual campaign, giving you greater control over how your ads evolve.

  • 📂 Save and Adjust Anytime: Once your campaign pattern is set, you can save it and come back to make adjustments at any time. The system remembers your settings, so you’re always just a click away from refining your strategy.

🔖 What different campaign strategy blueprints are available?

  • Advanced Campaign Launch

    • Choose from pre-built templates and add your own keywords/ASINs.

    • Select products, set individual campaign budgets, and apply negative targeting/dayparting.

    • Success = Campaigns optimize over time, improving targeting and budget efficiency as data builds.

🔄 What happens in Campaign Studio when I optimize a campaign for the first time?

Depending on the campaign type, one of the following will occur:

  • Optimizing an auto campaign for the first time creates a standalone auto pattern. It won’t launch a manual campaign or create an auto-manual pattern.

  • Optimizing a manual campaign for the first time creates a standalone manual pattern with no self-link.

🗞️ What are the Campaign Nodes?

The nodes each represent a campaign that you can link to other campaigns within the Campaign Studio. The layout of the campaign nodes is designed for a better user experience and easy access to all the campaign functionalities available.

Users can click on the designated icon on a node to replace the campaign, turn on/off the optimizer, edit campaign details, and delete the node.

📈 What campaign types can I work with in the Campaign Studio?

Campaign Studio supports Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands (SB), and Sponsored Brand Video (SBV) campaigns, giving you the flexibility to work across different ad types. Plus, we’re working on adding support for Sponsored Display, so stay tuned for even more campaign options!

🔒 What is the Transfer Rule Logic and how does it work?

The transfer rule allows you to set rules among multiple campaigns to transfer keywords/targets across different ad types. Users configure the search terms, keywords, or ASINs to be automatically transferred as broad match, phrase match, exact match, or ASIN.

When connecting campaigns together, users are prompted to set the transfer rule logic:

  • Upon establishing a link, the transfer rule window opens automatically, requiring users to set up the rules before saving.

  • The "Get Default Rules" option will generate a default keyword transfer rule, typically "when search term converts 1 time → create exact match keywords." Users can manually adjust conversion counts or match types.

  • Mirroring a campaign automatically establishes a link to the source campaign and creates default transfer rules.

  • Changes to transfer rules are saved when users hit "Apply" on the Transfer Rule window, ensuring no changes are lost.

Note: For Sponsored Brand campaigns, the default conversion threshold is set higher (5) due to the ad group limitations and higher cost per click.

👀 The Campaign Studio is hard to see, can I zoom in and out?

Yes! Users can zoom in and out of the campaign patterns as well as reset the pattern back to its original size using the “Reset” zoom button on the right-hand side of the Campaign Studio:

💰 Is there any benefit to using an existing campaign as opposed to a Sellozo-launched campaign?

Absolutely. If you’ve been running a Sponsored Products ad campaign before starting with Sellozo, you already have data that Sellozo can use to optimize your old campaign and create new converting campaigns faster. Turning on the optimizer expedites the process, saving time and money by leveraging the data you’ve already collected.

🔍 Can I run a Sellozo-created campaign with an existing campaign to compare performance?

No. Running two separate Amazon campaigns with the same product won’t yield comparable results since only one campaign receives the sale. This fragments the data and makes proper performance assessment difficult.

If you want to keep a backup of your existing campaign settings before enabling Sellozo, you can use Sellozo's 'Clone' feature:

  • Click PPC Manager > Actions > Clone Campaign.

  • Pause the original campaign after it has been cloned.

  • Enable the optimizer for the existing campaign.

This allows you to revert back if desired.
